Flexible grinding and polishing tools incorporate various product groups which will ensure the right tool for your specific application. The sub-categories contained within this section are shown as follows: –

IQ Series – Flap Discs

Predominantly used for deburring, fettling, removal of rust, surface preparation and weld seam removal. Manufactured with a wide selection of backing materials e.g. glass fabric, plastic & metal. With grit sizes ranging from 36 grit to 80 grit and diameters ranging from 115mm to 230mm, we offer discs to suit both rough grinding and fine grinding applications. These discs are ergonomic and compared to standard grinding discs, noise levels during grinding are halved and vibrations are significantly reduced. All discs are manufactured using Zirconia and Ceramic grains.

SLT-flex

  • Developed for efficient grinding of radii and fillet welds.
  • Zirconia and ceramic grains.
  • Wide flap projection ensures high flexibility.
  • No glazing or increased heat generation.
  • Capable of withstanding high contact pressures.
  • Produced with an M14 quick-clamping thread.
  • INOX – Free of iron, sulphur and chlorine.

Above discs are all manufactured with a patented lamellar design ensuring the largest part of the usable abrasive is located on the periphery of the disc and therefore significantly improves tool life compared to conventional flap discs.

IQ Series – Purple Grain

Predominantly used for deburring, fettling, removal of rust, surface preparation and weld seam removal. Manufactured in single, multi layered and flap disc form using only 36 grit ceramic grain ensures aggressive, durable and ergonomic grinding. Noise levels during grinding are halved and vibrations are significantly reduced. All discs are manufactured using self-sharpening ceramic grains.

Mounted Flap Wheels

Predominantly used for deburring, fettling, removal of rust, surface preparation, weld seam removal, bevelling and polishing. With grit sizes ranging from 40 grit to 320 grit and diameters ranging from 10mm to 100mm, we offer flap wheels to suit both rough grinding and fine grinding applications. Mounted flap wheels are manufactured using Aluminium oxide, zirconia, silicon Carbide and ceramic grains.

Available designations are as follows:

SFL – Mounted flap wheel

  • Individual flaps radially fixed around the axis of the tool.
  • Aluminium oxide grain and aluminium oxide grain with active grinding additives for cost-effective applications.
  • Ceramic grain for high stock removal rates.
  • Manufactured with high quality abrasive cloth.
  • Shank diameters 3mm, 6mm & 8mm.

SFB – Slotted flap wheel

  • Slotted flaps around the circumference to add greater flexibility.
  • Ideally suited to contour grinding.

SFT – Mounted flap wheel with recess

  • Ideally suited to face and peripheral grinding.

SFC – Mounted flap wheel for the Aerospace industry

SFI & SFA – Mounted flap wheel with internal or external thread

MFS – Miniature flap wheel

SFV – Mounted fleece flap wheel

  • Single fleece flaps fixed radially around the axis of the tool.

  • Adapts effortlessly to uneven surfaces.

SFR – Mounted flap wheel with abrasive fleece discs

  • Comprised of individual elastic fleece discs layered one upon the other.
  • Ideally suited to machining profiled workpieces, polishing, cleaning and final finishing of workpiece surfaces.

SFM – Mounted flap wheel with a combination of abrasive cloth and fleece

  • Comprised of individual fleece and cloth flaps radially fixed around the axis of the tool.
  • Wears evenly to ensure continuous machining.

  • Also available in TF grain for use with non-rusting materials.

Flap Wheels, Rolls & Mops

Predominantly used for deburring, surface preparation, removal of rust and texturing. With grit sizes ranging from 40 grit to 280 grit and diameters ranging from 100mm to 200mm, we offer wheels, rolls and mops to suit both rough grinding and fine grinding applications. Flap wheels, rolls & mops are manufactured using aluminium oxide and silicon carbide grains.

Available designations are as follows:

LSL – Flap wheels with abrasive cloth

  • Single flaps embedded radially around the axis in a solid plastic core.
  • 125mm diameter on an M14 thread available within 7 – 10 days for use on an angle grinder.
  • 80mm to 400mmø with a 13mm, 16mm or 20mm bore can be manufactured to meet your specific requirement with a lead time of approx 4 – 8 weeks.

LSV – Flap wheels with abrasive fleece

  • Ideally suited for matt finishing, satin finishing, polishing and final surface finishing.
  • 80mm to 400mmø with 13mm, 16mm or 20mm bore can be manufactured to meet your specific requirement with a lead time of approx 4 – 8 weeks.

LSM – Flap wheels with a combination of abrasive cloth and fleece

  • Ideally suited for cleaning, removal of rust, surface preparation and texturing.
  • 80mm to 400mmø with 13mm, 16mm or 20mm bore can be manufactured to meet your specific requirement with a lead time of approx 4 – 8 weeks.

FRV – Mops of abrasive fleece

  • Achieve silky lustre finishes on many materials.
  • Can be used for cleaning primer coatings and soiled paint surfaces in the wood and plastics industry.
  • Recommended speed between 10 – 20 m/sec while only applying minimal contact pressure.

LWL – Flap rolls made of abrasive cloth for burnishing machines

  • 19mm bore and four keyways or M14 thread to fit angle grinder.
  • Dimensions 100 x 50mm or 100 x 100mm.
  • Single flaps which are radially fixed around the axis in a plastic core.

LWV – Flap rolls made of abrasive fleece for burnishing machines

Predominantly used for light deburring, cleaning, refining, surface & contour grinding and fine grinding. With grit sizes ranging from 36 grit to 320 grit and diameters ranging from 8mm to 100mm, we offer abrasive bands to suit your specific grinding applications. Abrasive bands are manufactured using Aluminium oxide, zirconia and ceramic grains.

Available designations are as follows:

SBZY – Abrasive band cylindrical shape

  • Abrasive cloth spirally wound onto a fabric with a backing.
  • To be mounted on STZY mandrel.

SBZY – Abrasive band cylindrical shape without lining

  • Manufactured using aluminium oxide, zirconia or ceramic grain.
  • High stock removal rate.
  • Dimensions from 8mm to 100mm.
  • Abrasive cloth spirally wound onto a fabric with a backing.
  • Without lining to ensure utmost flexibility.
  • To be mounted on STZY soft mandrel.

SBKE – Abrasive band conical shape

  • Manufactured using aluminium oxide grain.
  • Dimensions from 20 x 63mm to 36 x 60mm.
  • Abrasive cloth spirally wound onto a fabric with a backing.
  • The taper shape allows grinding of hard to reach areas.
  • To be mounted on STKE mandrel.

STZY, STKE, & STWS – Mandrels to suit abrasive bands

  • Required solely for mounting abrasive bands.
  • Slotted design to ensure abrasive bands are firmly secured.
  • STWS mandrel manufactured with 19mm bore and four keyways for use with 100mm abrasive band rolls on burnishing machines.

Abrasive quick-change discs are manufactured using aluminium oxide, zirconia, silicon carbide and ceramic grains.

PSG/PSR – Self-clamping disc

  • PSG contains a quick lock system consisting of a metal or plastic lock.
  • PSR contains a quick thread system consisting of plastic.
  • Fit to corresponding GTG mandrel with a click or thread.
  • Aluminium oxide, zirconia and ceramic grains.
  • Available in fleece form.

PSK – Adhesive disc

  • Self-adhesive
  • Aluminium oxide and silicon carbide grains.

  • Suitable for grinding both flat and concave surfaces.

Semi-Flexible Grinding Discs & Backing Pads

Semi-Flexible Grinding Discs

Predominantly used for removing paint, rust and adhesives, but also for machining fibre-reinforced plastics e.g. wind turbine blades. Semi-flexible discs are manufactured with a fibre backing and a structured abrasive coating of silicon carbide. These discs should be used with backing pads.

Backing Pads

Backing pads are used in order to mount discs to angle grinders. Our backing pads are manufactured with a universal degree of hardness. We also offer backing pads with integrated cooling slots and ventilation holes to increase the stock removal rate and tool life without causing the tool to overheat.
